How to Make a Table Look Like a Martini Glass with Linens

Using your table as martini dcor for a party is one way to add a festive touch to the look of a party. Using a large white linen tablecloth you can turn a basic round table into a large martini glass. Turning a table into a martini glass is easy as long as you have a tall round table with a one-legged base and some creativity. Try making tables look like martini glasses for your next party.

Instructions

    1

Drape a large white linen centered over your round table top so that the sides of your linen hang down evenly all the way to the floor. You want the linen to be a little longer thAn floor length so that you can cinch it properly and still cover the entire leg of the table.

    2

Measure 3 feet from the top of your table and use thick silver rope to cinch the fabric around that area of the table. You want the linen table cloth to form a V-shape like the bowl of a martini glass.

    3

Wrap and tie silver rope around linen at the base of the bottom of your table. This will create the shape of the long stem of a martini glass from the first rope wrapping down the length of the table leg.

    4

Cut your foam crafts ball in half using a serrated knife or small handsaw. Paint one of your halves olive green using acrylic latex paint. Allow paint to dry for about an hour and paint one more layer, then allow to dry another hour.

    5

Stick your wooden dowel into the foam craft ball halve at a slight angle. This will serve to look like the toothpick sticking out of the olive in your martini table. Sit your olive halve with the protruding toothpick dowel atop your table a few inches from the edge of your table.

    6

Take clear plastic wrap and bunch and wrap it in a swirl around your table top. Make sure to wrap it going around the foam olive halve, as you don't want to cover your olive. This will give the illusion of liquid inside your martini table.
