Wood Projects Using Saw Horses

Wood Projects Using Saw Horses

Saw horses are not just for holding up projects in the garage anymore. They can be used in creating a beautiful and unique office desk, side table or coffee table. All three of these can be made at home by even the rookie carpenter. Not only is using the saw horse as legs for the side table eclectic and inventive, it is also environmentally friendly. Reusing old sawhorses for furniture in your home will save the useful gadgets from the trash. Does this Spark an idea?

Side tables

Sawhorses can be used as legs for side tables. The tables can be placed beside a bed, sofa or couch to add an eclectic and environmentally friendly touch to the room. Simply attach a store-bought round table top, available at most home improvement stores, to the sawhorse with wood screws. Smooth a coat of paint of your desired color over the sawhorse and enjoy.

Sawhorse Desk

Two sawhorses of the same size and a large store bought table top or large piece of wood cut to size can easily make a comfortable and customizable desk. The legs can be placed close together or far apart to make a desk of any size. Fasten the sawhorses to the desk-top with wood glue and wood screws on the underside of the desktop. The desk can be painted or stained to complement any decor.

Event Table

Tables made out of simple sawhorses and simple raw plywood are probably the cheapest and easiest to create extra tables for any event in a pinch. Simply place two sawhorses of the same size underneath a piece of raw plywood or any flat surface. Cover the make-shift table with a decorative tablecloth long enough to cover the sawhorse legs and decorate as desired. When the event is over, it couldn't be easier to disassemble the sawhorse table.
